An abdominoplasty is a surgical procedure that will remove excess skin and fat, flatten your abdomen and eliminate stretch marks. Abdominoplasty has evolved dramatically over the last few years, and thus the postoperative recovery, outcomes and satisfaction.
We combine Abdominoplasty with liposuction (Lipoabdominoplasty) to enhance the aesthetic outcome. The benefits of this technique are:
Better waist definition, by removing excess fat and skin with abdominoplasty, enhanced by liposuction to areas, where abdominoplasty alone would not be sufficient to address. This requires a very specific plan to avoid potential complications.
Waist cinching by creating an “internal-corset” which tightens the abdominal muscles, which spread with pregnancy and age (rectus muscle plication). This also decreases the appetite for added weight loss after surgery.
Enhanced sexual pleasure by a “suprapubic lift” which relocates the clitoris to a higher, more exposed position as well as creates a more youthful appearance to the Mons pubis.
Smaller, more youthful belly button by an “umbilicoplasty”, a surgical procedure which enhances the appearance of the belly button.
An abdominoplasty can be performed immediately following a hysterectomy or other abdominal surgery thereby reducing the cost of the surgery and the recovery period.
Other abdomen-flattening procedures are:
Mini-abdominoplasty with a shortened abdominal scar, If you have predominantly excess skin and looseness of the lower abdomen only.
Liposuction, If you only have diet-resistant or excess genetic fat without excess skin.
Combination surgery can maximize the results from the body-contouring surgery. Popular combinations with abdominoplasty include breast augmentation, reduction, or lift for breast enhancement. Combination with liposuction to the back and hips creates an overall body slimming effect.
Massive weight loss from diet and exercise or bariatic surgery often leave patients with unwanted skin and fat folds that are virtually impossible to correct by conservative measures.
A body lift is like a ‘round the world’ tummy tuck. The thighs and buttocks are lifted and many back folds are removed. Other procedures may be required for full correction, but the body lift makes a very big change, improving the appearance of the abdomen, thighs, buttock. The operation removes excess skin and fat from all the way around the mid-section, with an incision that runs along the panty waist band, all the way around. It is usually done after massive weight loss (after gastric bypass or lap band surgery) but also for saggy skin and body changes following pregnancy and resultant weight gain and loss. Removing all the excess skin and fat leaves patients smaller, with better fit into clothing, and with tighter, smoother skin.
The best candidates are in good shape, with a stable and normal weight (BMI < 25). Usually it takes at least between 18-24 months after weight loss surgery to reach the target weight. Consulting with a surgeon prior to this may motivate you to reach your goal. The surgery takes about 4 hours to perform and generally done in the hospital followed by one or two night stay there. You can walk after surgery and can start resuming regular activities about 2 weeks later.
Men or women with naturally loose skin or those following massive weight losses may have excessively saggy thigh skin. Treatment options such as diet, exercise or devices use do not offer much help in the long-term. A thigh lift can improve drastically your thigh volume and shape with long-lasting results.
Skin and fat excess is removed, while the operation is often combined with liposuction to enhance the aesthetic outcome. A scar in the inner bikini line, the thigh or both is the only trade-off, based on the actual condition and patient's desires. A special pressure garment is indicated for 4-8 weeks after the procedure.
Dr. Seretis performs limited and extended thigh lifts, according to your body shape and needs.
Excess of skin and fat under the arms presents a frequent concern of patients, particularly after weight loss, tissue degeneration or simply aging.
This "bat-wing" appearance of the arms can be corrected by an arm lift. The operation is often combined with liposuction to enhance the aesthetic outcome. A scar from the armpit to the elbow results, but is usually well hidden by Dr. Seretis. Therefore, it is generally only seen when raising the arms over the head.
Curves have always been viewed as sexy. Dr. Seretis will help you to find yours. Sometimes they are just hidden by extra fat around the buttocks. Others may need some enhancement.
Dr. Seretis prefers fat grafting for buttock enlargement. Using your own body’s fat will keep the buttock soft and it will grow with you. Implants, in the appropriate size and shape, are another option with long term natural results. A consultation with Dr. Seretis will help you decide the best option for you.
Stick-like lower legs are not shapely or sexy. Through a small incision in the crease of the back knee, Dr. Seretis inserts an implant to enhance the sexy aspect of your lower leg.
Don’t throw away those high heels.
